| Fleur de Sel de Guerande is prized above all other salts for its delicate, sweet flavor, moist texture, and fluffy, white crystals resembling newly fallen snow.
It is called the "Flower of the Salt" because it "blooms" on the surface of the salt ponds when the sun and the wind are just right.
Use it as a finishing salt, sprinkled over a dish just before serving. It makes an especially elegant table salt when served in individual salt dishes at each place setting. Try it on Ina Garten's Fleur de Sel Caramels or on her Sauteed Cabbage recipe found in the Barefoot Contessa Parties! Cookbook.
Additional Information: Fleur de Sel is harvested in Guerande, Brittany, using traditional Celtic methods in accordance with the strict ecological rules of France's Nature& Progres* certification program.
